Synopsis:

In the epic sequel to the New York Times bestselling novel, The School for Good and Evil, Sophie and Agatha are home, living out their Ever After. But life isn’t quite the fairy tale they expected.

When Agatha secretly wishes she’d chosen a different happy ending, she reopens the gates to the School for Good and Evil. But the world she and Sophie once knew has changed.

Witches and princesses, warlocks and princes are no longer enemies. New bonds are forming; old bonds are being shattered. But underneath this uneasy arrangement, a war is brewing and a dangerous enemy rises. As Agatha and Sophie battle to restore peace, an unexpected threat could destroy everything, and everyone, they love—and this time, it comes from within.

My Thoughts:

And Sophie and Agatha lived happy ever after, for girls don’t need princes for love to call…
No, they don’t need princes in their fairy tales at all.

All Agatha wanted was an Ever After with her best friend, Sophie. But now that they finally got it as the Gavaldon’s Curse Breakers, why isn’t she happy? A lot has been bothering her. A lot of what-ifs that lead her to unconsciously wish she had a different happy ending. It caused the gates of the School for Good and Evil to reopen for them. But what they found was not the school they knew.

New allies, new enemies and new School Master to defeat. They will have to fight for their Ever After, once again or else, they will have another ending they might not want.

The School for Good and Evil was a tough act to follow but its second book, A World Without Princes, managed to be as good as its predecessor, if not better. Our beloved Nevers and Evers are back and they are now fiercer, funnier and more intense in more ways than one. This second book will make you speechless with a mind-blowing ending. And I assure you, you will incessantly beg the book gods, to give you the last book in this trilogy because that's how good it is.

Soman Chainani really did a great job in continuing a complex yet fun story about choices and decisions between friendship and love but in a whole new different circumstance than the first. The characters still jump right off the pages and most of them, had a major transformation (especially Dot) that will make your jaw drop.

Overall, A World without Princes has all the qualities of an awesome story and more. It is something everyone will surely love, especially if for those who are looking for a fairy tale-kind of story that is fresh and definitely original.
