Teri Harman's groundbreaking debut novel, the first installment in The Moonlight Trilogy, completely reinvents the modern concept of witches and magic. With its authentic translation of the history of witches into a fresh and entertaining package with unprecedented characterization, Blood Moon is sure to capture readers from the first page.

My Thoughts:

Blood Moon by Teri Harman is an exciting paranormal fantasy novel full of witches, spells and romance. This is a story that will show you the long history of rivalry between the Light and the Dark witches and their never-ending fight for supremacy.

Both Willa and Simon have a secret that they have never shared with anyone before; Willa can see and communicate with ghost and Simon can sense emotions and heal wounds and illnesses. When they met each other they feel an instant and undeniable connection and soon enough, they found out each other’s secret and they knew, in that moment, that they finally found their soul mate. But their happiness doesn’t last that long when they decided to put their lives in danger and help an imprisoned Light witch from dying. And that’s the beginning of how they got mixed up in the war between the Light and the Dark witches.

To be honest, I was a little bit turned off in the beginning because of the insta-love that happened between Willa and Simon. I understand that their attraction was caused by magic but I’m still a skeptic about that stuff. So after that I just sort of ignored the love story and just focus on the storyline about the witches and the fight between the covens.

Anyway, the story was pretty awesome. I love the pacing of the story. The alternating chapter between the present and the past also helped me get a glimpse of what happened to the Luminaries of the first Light Covenant and why everything was happening in the present.

I’ve been a fan of witches because of Charmed and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, and I feel like my fascination with them was revived because of this book. Even without the romance between Willa and Simon, this was still a pretty kick-ass book. I certainly would love to find out what’s next in this series.

Overall, this was thrilling and fascinating read. I would recommend it to everyone who loves witchcraft and awesome spell-casting fight scenes.
